Repair and Installation Technician 
Job Type: Full Time 40 hours+ per week.

We have an immediate opening for a combination Repair and Installation Technician for our durable medical equipment devices to join our growing team to provide great service to our many disabled clients, including veterans.

Since 1997 we have been a leading Durable Medical Equipment Supply Company specializing in the sales, installation, and servicing of Patient Lifts, Ceiling Track Systems (www.surehands.com), Pool Lifts (www.aquacreek.com), Ramps (www.ezaccess.com), Vertical Platform Lift Elevators (www.macsliftgate.com), Stairlifts (www.savaria.com), Grab Bars and other medical equipment for the handicap population.  

We are located in Brentwood, Ca in the Delta area near Antioch, west of Stockton. We sell and service our systems from Fresno to Oregon, Reno, Central Valley, Sacramento, and the entire Bay Area. 

We provide excellent hands-on training. Previous experience in this field is definitely a benefit.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work independently for repairs and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Help with warehouse and shipment receiving and organization.
  • You must be excellent at communication with the office staff and other installation team members to accomplish needed repairs.
  • You must be willing to work longer days during the training period, with occasional Saturdays, to complete the training faster.
  • The initial training period will last between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on your previous experience. Ongoing training will be required to maintain levels of proficiency. 
  • The average workday is about 2 hrs. driving and 6 hrs. of installation/repair work in the home office and out in the field. At times, you will need to stay out of town in a hotel (paid for by us) to perform work onsite. 
  • Daily installation, troubleshooting, repair & general maintenance of a variety of Surehands Ceiling Track Systems Handicare and Bruno Stair Lifts, Mac's Lift Gate and Bruno Porch Lifts),and EZ Access Ramps.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction and framing experience.
  • Understanding of low voltage electronic circuitry & troubleshooting.
  • You must be capable of work in attics to perform the ceiling track installations and repairs as needed.
  • You will have a good sense of math calculations to measure and calculate accurately, including metric measurements.
  • A general knowledge of medical conditions would be a major help as you will be dealing with clients in wheelchairs most of the time.
  • The right person will have an outstanding reputation for repair and maintenance experience and customer service (this will be verified).
  • You have experience working with elevators, ceiling track systems, or stairlifts.

Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • You must agree to and pass a background check. 
  • Excellent communication skills - Bilingual Spanish/English is a major plus.
  • You will drive a company vehicle but must have your own vehicle available in case it is needed for travel.
  • Have a safe driving record - you must present a current DMV driving record to us after the first interview.
  • Have familiarity with Bay Area roads, have common driving sense, and good professional driving manners.
  • The ability to use a multi-meter and all hand and power tools. Some tools will be provided. You will have your own set of basic hand tools.
  • A drug test may be required - we need you to be clean and drug-free. You will be working with the disabled and elderly, so a high level of professionalism is needed.
  • You must have the ability to navigate the internet and to use a laptop and know how to use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook and CRM programs. You will need to research and use factory Tech Support Tools from various manufacturers while on-site to resolve repair issues.
